we went up full of smiles and confidence, we played like it was our last performance, we sang and touched many, we ended the last note together as one, we walked down the stage with pride.
and there it was, gold. yeah, no honours if you're wondering. idk, maybe i felt tt we deserve something better. we wanted to get tt honours badly, for mrleng, for our seniors and for ourselves. somehow there was just this teeny weeny bit of disappointment.
but its okay, for we enjoyed what we played and we gave our best on stage that morning. honours or not, it doesnt really matter anymore, because we played like one. all the late night pracs, ulcers and cracked lips, dozing-off-during-lessons were all worthwhile. and looking back at 18th april's exchange, we really improved tremendously, from a no-pulse poor-intonation band to a technically-good band with awesome expression and shape in our music. im truly proud to be a part of this team of musicians.
heard the recording ystd and it was so touching i teared. the sound, the tone and the emotions, really amazing. few weeks back, i'd never have imagined tt to be our music. but hey, im glad we did it(= comments on bandfusion were rather heartwarming, things like, 'after hearing sa, vj and hc, i will not judge the bands by the medals they get' or sth along tt line. and the ones on the singing part, this random guy was quite surprised tt we got all the chords in tune and all hahaha. well, at least the 1+hour getting terrorised by mrgoh paid off! liangsai said he saw the judges looking up almost immediately when we started the chorale hehh, how i wish i saw tt too(=
life without band is really weird. explains why im so free on a saturday morning=/ carried instruments back to college with irene ystd and when we were busy packing the blazers and all, i thought,'in a few weeks' time, i wont be coming here on a almost-daily basis anymore' yeah, sadddd. speaking of which, after we got our results on thursday, liangsai and his team of people started playing random pieces as usual. the best part was, they played auld lang syne=_= and so i cried. cried even more when chai hugged me. rarrr, the feeling of parting is always so sad, esp when you're super close to these people. quote nutcase,'i love you all, i feel so close to you all' hahaha funny when you hear her say(shall post the video up someday=P), but its really true honestly.
photos will come later after nutcase is done uploading. as of now, thankyou so much my awesome possum horn section! yes we know we are the noisiest section in the band, we pour acid on one another and niao one another each and every day etcetc, but we are the most bonded section im sure! its nice to come into college bandroom each morning to see >half the people there belonging to the hornsection, and its very encouraging to always have full attendance in our section(= and the fact tt i saw only irene ystd was really weird, like super emptyyyy. suddenly i want to have syf all over again=/ but anyhow, thankyou chai irene nut edwin jason ziyan benja, for all the joy and love! thankyou chai too, for being really understanding towards my h3 and mpa and all. thankyou amanda too, for all the support! ohh and lewis! yeah, i hope he is not upset over what leng said, cause we really think we improved alot under him! so thankyou lewis!=D and noad tooo of course(=
many thanks to all who texted on 7th's morning, if my reply was super short, im very sorry cause we were all in a rush. but i do thank all of you for tt! thankyou caining for coming down too and for having so much faith in us! thankyou hcband for all the funny and fun times (which is all the time basically) and for all the smiles and optimisim when things didnt look good(= finally, thankyou mrleng! yes younghandsomemacho leng hahahah if he insists, for not giving up on us after we malu-ed him on exchange day.
