preparations for mids gg on rather smoothly. but somethings bugging me. alot. its like every 1/2/4, we go home so early. too early. and its the sense of emptiness i dunno know. i used to dread band practs back in sec1 cos they were long and tiring. but tuesday was so different. we left the library for home at ard 4.30pm. as we walked out, we looked down and saw the parade square. it was so empty. exceptionally quiet, too quiet to be exact. usually, you would see us carrying instruments, rushing in and out of the band room, making alot of "noise"[we call tt music], sls clapping like mad, leaders running ard the whole parade square like some marathon etc etc. tuesdays, a typical band day. and surprisingly, bands the only few ccas tt have practs on tuesday. so tuesdays w/o band, the school looks empty, sounds empty, feels empty. so weird huh. there was this sudden tinge of sadness in us when we saw it on tuesday. something tt seemed indescribable[sp?] at that very point of time.
come to think of it, i realise i'll miss band alot alot alot after 14th, esp frenchhorn section. how heng's been with me for all my four years in cgssb, how shes been my motivation to work hard, how she had helped me loads when the role of an sl became tough. and darling lian, whos always there when things were difficult for the seniors, whos always there when juniors needed help. and juniors, who're always tt helpful and tt guai during sectionals. they were so nice to buy me food when i sent them off for breaks at cheers kay. im so proud of them. haha. many many little little things... and of course, to help me carry stuffs, buy food and buy panadol when i was having an "arrghghgh" fever that very saturday before syf. and as the mama of the section, im so proud of you girls and just so thankful to be able to have you all with me all these while. not forgetting janice, whom though was often sick, but is always there to give us morale support when our opening was really bad. jiayou sectionmate, you must recover soon kay.
4years as a horn-ist, i must say i've learned alot, frm seniors, frm peers, frm juniors even. seniors like annie, ruth, sy, yt, michelle, ej, mel. they are like the best seniors tt are so so supportive. and thankew to those who rmbed us on syf day, esp ej and sy, who actually came down to help us with preparation itself<33 peers like heng, xl, lw, tie, yuen, kialeng... though we are having fun all the time, we know when to be serious and all. its sooo great working with all of you((= MRSCHUA! haha. she is the best conductor man. alot of learning points here and there, and im sure i'll lose a great advisor and "mother"=P after we step down. many lessons and things tt i'll take away with me as i leave this band, but like yan said," although we're not here anymore, our spirit will always be here". sounds like some non-living human, but true huh.
