nbc. a job well done for cgssb. *round of applause*. 78.64/100, a silver medal. to a band with a new batch of members and practising for just ahout 3months, i am proud of you. all of you guys. its so true that we have strong spirit. could really see it when we helped one another and rooted for one another deep on our hearts. congratulations to the horns, for all the successful high notes [ though tt part was bad, according to enjia], to wenjun for her wonderful solo, to michellina for her courage to play even with a new reed and to the band for the CGS. i am sure we've done to CGS mrs chua wanted us to, at least i could see we put whatever we've been taught into our 10minutes of effort. its quite nice to know that everyone paid attention to mrs chua and applied our knowledge in today.
silver might not be good, taking in consideration cgssb's past legend. but when we took over in april, the band attendance was so bad tt you cant imagine and our standard is... yupp. its been 3months of practice and attendance improved to where there are quite a few times with full attendance [sec1-3s] and our skills got better, from mr chua's 70/100 to mr komiama[sp?] 's ard 76/100 and to today's 78.64%. at least we did improve right? i think all of us had put in our bestest efforts and i hope no one regretted. there sure might been some hiccups here and there but it does not matter. all that matters is how hard we tried, how much we placed importance on this comp and how the whole of music turned out well. its a band music, not a section music so i think there is no section that failed to perform. because everyone put in their best and its the process that counts right? thanks loads to everyone who made this experience a nerve-wrecking yet a meaningful one. this will certainly be a important step to our syf next year. only 1.36% to gold. we can do it cgssb!
after nbc will be speech day, gala dinner and musical dinner. i hope the band attendance will remain good because i dun wan pple to just come for the sake of nbc. its not the right way because you come in preparation for more big events and to improve your playing. syf is coming up in abt 9months' time [liwei counted for me] and its not long you know. wah, in 9months' time i will be stepping down, tts fast? anyway, tts besides the point. my point is i hope cgssb will treat the 3 events i mentioned as stepping stones to improve your skills, your sound thing so you will be prepared during syf. issent it good to be prepared earlier than chiong at the last minute? do come for band pract cgssb.
